International Symposium on Tourism in Africa

Tourism is one of the industries that have been hit hardest by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Destinations recorded one billion fewer international arrivals in 2020 than 2019. The future of tourism was discussed with a base of current challenges in restarting tourism globally, at this year panel on “Tourism resilience and building forward better” (during the United Nations’ World Tourism Organization initiative “Aid for Trade”).
Researchers from the Africa Studies Unit invite to an international symposium “Challenges in Restarting Tourism After the COVID-19 Pandemic in Africa”. The event takes place on Saturday, 19 November 2022 at 11am GMT in London [UK]. CHAIRS: Eric Tackie Tawiah Ankrah BA [JAPONIA]. Among keynote speakers you can find i.a. Prof Arkadiusz Żukowski [POLSKA] and dr Teresa Naidoo [RPA].
The aim of the symposium is to present Africa as safe and to boost tourist numbers to the continent after the pandemic. The Symposium is open to Tourism and Hospitality industry practitioners such as Tour Operators, Airlines, Tour Guides, Hotels and Guest Houses, Restaurants, Tourism Organizations both Public and Private, Tourism Professionals, Academics, Potential Tourists and the general public.
