About the Conference

In 2024, we invite experienced researchers and PhD students to apply to participate in PUNO’s VI International Interdisciplinary Academic Conference.

This year, we aim to reflect on Zygmunt Bauman’s concept of liquid modernity in relation to education, science, and culture, questioning the current relevance of this concept. The times in which we live, phenomena of both a global and local nature, for example: the development of artificial intelligence, the climate crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, the crisis of democracy – the popularity of populist movements, armed conflicts in Ukraine, Yemen, Sudan, the Gaza Strip, and many other places, provoke questions relating to the theses contained in Zygmunt Bauman’s works: “Liquid Modernity” (2000), “Liquid Life” (2005), “Liquid Fear” (2006), “Liquid Times. Living in the Age of Uncertainty” (2007). We especially want to focus on areas of reflection related to education, science, and culture.
