The Unit of European History was established in January 2022 within the Institute of European Culture to provide a coherent and permanent structure for the teaching and researching of history at PUNO. The Unit is a centre for the research, teaching and public dissemination of European history, with particular focus on the history of the Polish lands broadly understood, during the twentieth century. Members of the unit have particular expertise on the Holocaust, the history of Poland during the twentieth century, including on the Polish Government in Exile and the Polish Underground State, and nationalism and communism in East Central Europe.
